Sarah Ellen Neibaur was born in the very early dawn of Utah's History; She was born May 21, 1849, the first daughter to be born in the Salt Lake valley to Alexander and Ellen (BREAKELL) NEIBAUR. It is believed that she was born in their first little adobe home. The Neibaur family started to build the adobes upon reaching the valley, in 1848. They lived the first winter in tents and the wagon box. In the spring they moved into their home cottage. They had moved unto their lot, October 19,1848; and was by November 23,1848 starting to build the house. Alex. N. journal ) Sarah Ellen was blessed by Bishop Hunter (A.N. bible rec); When the 1850-51 Census is taken on June 1; she is listed as age 2 years; and the family are in the 13th L.D.S. Ward, Salt lake City. Utah. December 28, 1852, a Bishop's Report is taken and the family are in 13th Ward. (Alexander Neibaur and family). Sarah Ellen Neibaur was baptized and confirmed a member of the church by Bishop Edwin D. Woolley. June 3, 1857 (13th LDS Ward Rec) When the 1860 Census for Utah Territory was taken Sarah is age 11 years and has attended school during the year. Also her brother and sisters; have attended school during 1860, namely; Bertha; Hiram; Leaah; and Rebecca. (Census was taken June 5, 1860) 13th Ward SLC). Her father is listed as a dentist age 52 years with real-estate valued at 1400 and personal estate valued at 700. Her mother is listed as born in England and is age 49 years of age. Sarah Ellen married John O'Driscoll, November 16, 1867 in the Endowment House, at Salt lake City. Her husband had learned the plasterer's trade and he had helped to plaster many of the buildings in Salt Lake City. He worked on the railroad in 1868-1869, and they were present at the completion of the road when the Gold Spike was driven, May 10,1869 at Promontory. John also had hauled material to help build the Salt lake temple. He also hauled coal from Kamas by ox teams, to SLC, there it was sold for 35 dollars per ton ("Early Mining in Utah"- D.U.P. files) On January 3, 1869 their first child a girl was born in Salt Lake City, Rachel . She was blessed by Bishop E.D. Wolley and Counselors, April 1, 1869 in the Thirteenth Ward., SLC:(13th ward rec.) folios

 In 1869; June 16th the Driscoll family moved to Kamas Valley, then known as Rhoades Valley, and they lived in the fort. Sarah Ellen taught a class of women in embroidery work. John continued to work at his trade doing the first plaster work in the Kamas Valley. He built the first fence and also helped take out the first irrigation canal, which carried water from Provo River on the Kamas bench. In April 6, 1870 a daughter is born at Rhoades Valley; Summit County, Utah Census) Ellen (Berta"). On the 1870 census of SLC, 13th Ward, She is listed as June) Berta, age 4/12; her sister Rachel, is age 2 years. John Smith is age 24 years and born in Africa, and is a stonemason. His wife, Sarah is age 25 and is keeping house, she was born in Utah. (Alex. Neibaur Bible Rec. gives her birth at Camas Rhodes Valley) and blessed in SLC by Bishop Woolley. A son is born to the family at Salt lake City, George Alexander O' Driscoll, 24/25 July 1871, his death is recorded as 27 August 1872 at Salt lake City. Another son, John Hyrum is born at Kamas, March 27, 1873; In April 1874 the family moved on a homestead near the Provo River. Here they went through all the hardships incident to pioneer life. John hauled poles from the canyon, took them to Salt Lake City and traded these for bacon, flour, molasses and other necessities. Son, Richard O'Driscoll was born October 16/17 at Kamas (Alex.N. records his birth, as born, at Kamas, Rhodes Territory (he probably means Utah Terr;) His death was recorded as at Provo bottom, near Kamas, October 16,1875. (Kamas cemetery rec; death 15 Oct 1875 born Oct. 16,1874. The family made their home at this homestead until the spring of 1910 when they bought the Kamas Hotel and operated it successfully for many years. John and Henry Branch worked together on many jobs and plastered many buildings in Summit- county, among these were the Summit Stake House, the Opera House at park City, the Kamas Hall and of course various homes in that area.

The census was taken June 1880 the family are listed at Kamas, the father is age 34 years and a farmer. Wife age 31 years and born in Utah; children; Rachel age 11 yrs; Ellen age 10; John age 7; William age 4; Leslie age 2 yrs; and a daughter not named age 1/2. 

Nathan Neibaur is a lodger there in their home the night the Census was taken., age 24 years, and born in Utah. A son Nathan Neibaur O'Driscoll is born March 23, 1882; this son is blessed September 6, by Alex. Neibaur. (LDS Ward Rec. Kamas pg. 12 Nathan Alexander O'Driscoll died; December 8, 1890(Kamas cemetery Rec 

1884; November 27; a son Isaac Breakell is born at Kamas; he is blessed January 1, 1885 by Hyrum NEIGHBOR (we know should be NEIBAUR.) 

1888; February 26 a daughter Gladys is born (some rec. give this b- at Francis, others at Kamas; (Rec. Kamas LDS 

Perhaps the last two children are born at Francis; LDS rec should be researched;
